Delray Full Service

The scope of this project includes the demolition of buildings and new construction of a +/- 18,000sf 2-story classroom building as well as site and parking modifications and remodel of the gymnasium into an auditorium as associated with mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and structural systems.

Peacock Architects were hired to preserve three of the campus buildings which have been donated to the City of Delray Beach to be preserved and repurposed. The historic gymnasium was renovated and converted to a GED testing lab and a community center for the surrounding neighborhood. Within the community center, a historic artifacts room was created, housing the history of Carver High. The new building construction was for a 20,000 square foot tilt up wall construction housing the new adult education program. This included a new construction trades classroom, an information technology lab, a health science lab, administration, and all associated spaces such as maintenance and restrooms. The work also consisted of creating a new site plan for the facility, as 9 of the original 13 campus buildings were scheduled for demolition. With the new site plan, space for 10 future modular classrooms was planned along with the needed parking requirements for the new facility and new building uses.
